Automatic Redstone Sugarcane Farm
(Intro to be posted later)
Materials: 206 building blocks (3 stacks and 14 blocks), 2 stairs, 8 sand, grass, or dirt blocks, 2 sea lanterns or glowstone blocks, 24 glass, 8 pistons, 1 observer, 11 redstone dust, 1 repeater, 2 chests, 1 hopper,1 sign, 2 bucket of water to make an infinite water source for water used in the farm, and 8 sugarcane.
Step 1: Make a 5x11 platform with a block of your choosing. Count from the left side and remove the 6th and 7th block in the first row then remove the middle block from the second row.
Step 2: Add a double chest in the 2 wide gap with a hopper going into it. Build a ring around the platform 1 high with a space where the chests are. To finish this step, add 3 more blocks to the left side on the same level.
Step 3: Add 2 downward facing stairs on top of the double chest. After this, fill in 8 blocks of sand, dirt, or grass in the middle row with water behind.
Step 4: Add a sign above the hopper and water on each side in front of the sand. Water should flow from each sign stopping at the sign above the hopper.
Step 5: Add a sea lantern or glowstone block on each side of the sand so the sugarcane has light to grow. After this, fill in 2 blocks wide on the left side, 2 blocks wide along the back and 1 block wide along the right side.
Step 6: Add in 8 pistons along the next to last row facing the sand and fill in with blocks like you did in step 5.
Step 7: Add in an observer facing the sand on the left side and then fill in blocks above the pistons with one extra block added on the left side.
Step 8: Add 3 redstone dust from the back of the observer down the left side towards the back of the farm. After this, add a repeater with 8 more redstone dust along the back of the farm.
Step 9: Add 4 blocks on the left side in a square pattern and blocks along the right side.
Step 10: Add a roof on your farm.
Step 11: Add sugar cane on the sand, grass, or dirt blocks in the farm.
Step 12: Fill in the front with glass.
Congratulations on building your automatic redstone sugarcane farm! This design is modular and can be built upwards for more efficiency.
