Crop Hoppers

Crop hoppers are a special type of hopper in Skyblock Economy that provides automated crop harvesting and selling functionality. Unlike regular hoppers, crop hoppers interact directly with crops within the chunk they are placed in, ensuring a seamless farming experience.

Functionality

When a crop reaches maturity in the chunk where a crop hopper is placed, the crop hopper automatically harvests the crop and sells it to the Server Shop. The player's balance is credited with the earnings. Instead of breaking the crop, the crop hopper resets the crop's age (for regrowable crops like sugarcane) or removes the fruit (for crops like pumpkins and melons), allowing for continuous farming without manual intervention.

Crop hoppers behave like regular hoppers when interacting with storage and transport blocks.

Obtaining

Crop Hoppers can be obtained through Crate Rewards and the Server Shop.

Levels

Crop Hoppers come in three levels, each with different capabilities:

Taxation

Tax Period

A tax period starts after the server reboots, and recurs every Minecraft day. Taxes are automatically deducted from the player's balance at the end of each period, and information about earnings can be viewed in chat.

Tax Rate

The tax is calculated at the end of a tax period at a rate of 1% per active crop hopper, up to a maximum of 32% of the player's earnings. A crop hopper is activated when it harvests any crops over the tax period. [NEEDS VERIFICATION]

Tax Evasion

If a player does not have enough skybucks in their account to pay for tax at the end of a tax period, their crop hoppers are deactivated. A deactivated crop hopper will no longer prevent crops from reaching maturity, and do not produce any revenue.
