Skyblock Classic

Skyblock Classic is the old Skyblock Survival server. It was released on September 4th 2011 by Noobcrew. At the time of release, it only featured skyblock.net until September 2012 when Noobcrew introduced Skyblock.org or Skyblock Economy as it is currently known. The main difference between is the use of dollars as opposed to grass blocks, which still remain the dominant currency today.

Versions

When Skyblock Classic was first released, it was released on [version]. It was then updated to Minecraft 1.7.10 on September 2014 allowing 1.8 clients to join the server. Unforunately, this meant 1.8 blocks and items would not be featured. It was then updated to 1.8.9 somewhere in between 2015-2018 where it has since remained to this day.

Migration

On February 12th, 2018, Noobcrew announced a second skyblock server for skyblock.net with Minecraft 1.12.2. The ip address was still the same to connect to skyblock classic only this time classic could now be connected with the /servers command. None of the items would be transferable to the new server and would remain on classic. Despite the new changes, Noobcrew has promised classic will not be closed as it holds a lot of memories for players who joined the server since its first release till the new release. (needs rework)
